I use Quickbooks Point of Sale with my job. It is a windows based program. I find it very easy to learn, but I would recommend the latest version. I received an email noting the newest version of Windows would not be compatible with the previous Quickbooks. So if you can, definitely go with the latest version. It allows you to Purchase, sale, disperse receipts, do returns. It really is great Don't let it overwhelm you, it really is an easy program once you explore a little.

QuickBooks Point of Sale is meant for retail (cash register, customer and inventory management) use. You will have to integrate it with QuickBooks Financial Software so you will need to buy both.
