What Is Te Best Field In Accounting For An Entry Level Position?
I am right now attending the university to complete my certificate in the Accounting. I already have a BS in General Business. I did some volunteer work during this summer for a CPA. I would like to find a part time entry level accounting position while I am attending my classes at the university to gain the needed experience. Please can you tell me what is the best accounting field for an entry level position. Thank you in advance for your advice.
You could try calling around to your local CPA firms to see if they are looking to bring on any part-time help. This will most likely be easier in Dec/Jan since it will be tax season. If you can’t find a CPA firm that needs your help, think about taking the class (or you can try to test out) for H&R Block. The tax experience will help on your job hunt once out of school.

I am also a ‘new’ accountant (meaning I just got my degree 2 years ago) and haven’t seen any part-time jobs in the accounting field in the places I have looked. My husband is in the Coast Guard, so am currently in Mobile, AL but have also worked in Portland, ME and Charlotte, NC. I would love to have a part-time job since I have a 2-year-old but I’m overqualified for bookkeeping and I haven’t found anyone else that needed a part-time accountant.
Once you are out of school and can do full-time, you may move right into the Staff Accountant type role or start at Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable and work your way up from there. You should apply for all
