Small Business Accounting Software – Please Help.?

I work for a company that has been using QuickBooks for years and years. However, we are very dissatisfied with the 2009 version and the payroll service. QuickBooks is now making people pay to call and ask a question with out a support service plan. How ridiculous. Which small business accounting software have you used? Did you like it? Why/why not? Which do you recommend.
We run an insurance company so we are basically just income and expenses. Only one employee for payroll. Need payroll

Hi there. There is another program called MYOB. (Mind Your Own Business). But truly, it isn’t as good as QB. I have been using QB for 10 years and there isn’t a better program.
I use QB Pro 06-07. It does what I want. A few modules I don’t use so I leave them alone. I run a transport company with contractors and employees. I get messages suggesting I upgrade to the latest package all the time but if it aint broke, why fix it.
My answer is, learn to use QB. And please beleive me when I say, I didn’t mean that in a nasty way. I haven’t called for customer support for, well, I really don’t remember. The thing is too, you already have the program. Other packages use different codes so you would have to RE learn all those too.
There are QB accreditated people in most areas. Get them to sit down with you and run through areas you are not familiar with. It really shouldn’t take you longer than a couple of hours.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that the grass is not always greener on the other side. You have a great package. You just don’t see it. :)
    Happy accounting….

I agree that QuickBooks is the most user friendly accounting software for the small business.
I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about it. I can also ask QB any questions or problems we may run into that I can not answer.
I am a certified QB advisor and I get customer support with my certification.
Please email me if you would like some help.
As far as your payroll issue; have you ever considered outsourcing your payroll. Very inexpensive solution and no concerns or liabilities with all the tax filings.
