Should We Believe Anyone That Calls Us Saying They Are From Irs And That Our Tax Return Is Being Rejected?
won’t the irs notify us by mail if there is any problems with our income tax return?

No, don’t believe them. If your return is rejected you’ll get it back in the mail if you mailed it in. The only way you might get a phone call is if you filed with a tax prep place and an efile is rejected, they might call you to let you know – but they wouldn’t say they are from the IRS.
I wouldn’t believe it. You can always call the IRS, though to confirm, but anything they have ever done with me has been through mail.
There have been many scams by people claiming they are from the IRS and scaring people into giving out personal information. If there was a problem you would be notified by mail.
irs will sent out a letter letting you know if your return will rejected you should call and report this to the irs if done by a filer service then they will call you they will tell you and would say that they are from the irs either
Definitely a scam!!! There has been alot of scams regarding the IRS. It is actually stated on their website about the scams. IRS usually corresponds with mail, not by phone. Please go to the irs.gov website. Their website is updated daily.
Scam. The IRS uses letter notifications.
Ignore the caller, IRS only mails letters and if an IRS employee does call you they do not leave voice mail, you will know if it is an actual IRS employee, but can’t tell you how because of too much scam going on, but you will know.
If you want to check on your tax return call 1-800-829-1040
The I.R.S. does not call anyone.
All correspondence is done through snail mail.
Total scam.
No. Do not believe them. Get their name, telephone number and their employee identification number. The IRS does not call about rejected returns, you are right they would send you a letter.
Every IRS employee is required to give you their employee number when they call someone. They are also, required to give you their managers telephone number if asked. If you have caller ID then write the telephone number down.
I would then contact the IRS criminal division. Visit http://www.irs.gov for the local telephone number for the Treasury Inspector General.
ring the inland revenue and yes normally they do contact you by post.
that is kinda of fishy I always thought they notified you by mail dont do anything over the phone
The IRS calls people for all sorts of things – usually collection and examination matters. Revenue agents will cold call taxpayers to inform them that their tax return has been selected for audit. As for this situation, though, if you think this is a scam, call the IRS’ 1-800 number. They can tell you whether or not your return was rejected.
Besides, anyone calling from the IRS will already have your personal information and will not have to ASK for your information.
The IRS doesn’t make phone calls.
