Retire Secure!: Pay Taxes Later – The Key to Making Your Money Last, 2nd Edition

James Lange throws out a lifeline for all those IRA and retirement plan owners concerned with retirement and estate planning strategies. An essential read for investors and advisors, Jim has hit another one out of the park with his second edition of Retire Secure. A tax attorney and CPA, he has clearly become the “go to guy”, when it comes to Roth IRAs and Roth IRA conversion strategies. As an attorney and Registered Investment Advisor, I find Retire Secure particularly useful as a reference guide for those clients approaching retirement or already retired.
Rating: 5 / 5
An incredibly comprehensive yet readable book on IRAs. There much more nuance in IRA strategies that one thinks about.

After reading this book I finally have a blueprint of what I must do regarding estate planning. I plan to read the book a second time highlighting all the important aspects of Jim’s advice. My goal is to have my sons understand the critical nature of estate planning and how their financial future could be compromised by not following Jim’s advice. Great book!!! I have recommended it to all my friends both young and old.

I enjoyed and benefited from reading the first edition of Retire Secure!. My wife and I picked up the second edition, assuming that it would be a simple refresh of the material covered in the first edition, but we were pleasantly surprised.
The second edition goes much further than the first in describing some of the most important financial opportunities for tax payers – including Roth IRA’s, the new Roth 401(k)s and ways to best give to charities while reducing your tax bill.
As a entrepreneur and business owner, I often felt left to my own devises when it came to retirement and estate planning. Both editions of this book have helped me navigate the choppy waters of properly planning for my retirement.
Rating: 5 / 5
This book should be required reading for anyone interested in their own retirement income or those interested in providing for their heirs. It is easy to follow but packed with tips and facts not easily obtained in our normal reading. It would make a good practical college or high school text on retirement planning as well as providing excellent advice on estate planning.
