Is The Real World Training Offered By Quickbooks Worth The Money?
I’ve been using QuickBooks for a couple years and am familiar with the basics, but I am wondering if I could get even more out of this software by attending the training.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has attended the training and anyone who chose an alternate method of training such as an individual or the “Mastering Quickbooks” dvds.
I did both. I thought the seminar would be boring (I have over 1 year experience and am very comfortable with software) but I was surprised by how much I learned. The truth is you could learn everything they teach on your own by scouring the help files, Googling different topics, and watching some very bad videos. But I don’t have time to wade through all the “bad” content and choose the good content. Also they “package” the content so well. If you have time, then you can do it on your own. But they offered all the content I needed in 2 days and the instructor was actually quite funny. The DVDs were offered at a discount so I grabbed them for my boss. They are very professional and easy to use (even my boss learned some stuff). This is not rocket science, but if you want QuickBooks explained in step by step fashion, Real World Training is perfect. I never tried other companies, but I have a friend who tried Video Professor and he said they sucked. You can also learn from your accountant, which would actually be a better experience (one on one)…but it’s so expensive! I think they have a money back guarantee (check website) so you can try it without risk. Hope this helps.
