Get Microsoft Office Accounting, easy to start, similar interface with other office applications, and not expensive.
Quickbooks Pro is the second alternative out there.
MYOB accounting is third option, the interface is similar to what you study in college.

If you’re looking exclusively for a small business solution, try http://lessaccounting.com it’s comprehensive accounting software built just for small biz owners and freelancers. It’s really easy to use and because it’s web-based if you have a Mac you won’t have problems (unlike QB).
    There’s a 30 day free trial and then it’s $19/month.

agreed, quickbooks seems to be the best out there in the market. you can also try MS accounting (express version, which is almost same as the Pro is free to use):http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/accoun…

Quickbooks Pro $189.00 is your best option. Peachtree tends to be less user friendly. Look for a sale at Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, etc.
