How Do I Adjust The Subtotal And Total Amounts In Quickbooks Pro?

The subtotal box on my quickbooks pro invoice shows the tax already calculated. Then the “total” box shows this same amount. How do I change my invoice template so that the subtotal shows the total without the tax already calculated and then the total shows the total of the order with the sales tax? Thanks.

Go to LISTS–TEMPLATES..chooses template to change. Choose ADDITIONAL CUSTIMIZATION..FOOTER TAB and choose Footers you want (ie. subtotal, sales tax, total or balance due.) Hope this helps. I am working on 2007 version. Sometimes only the Admin has editing right to templates.
You have to set up the sales tax in the ITEM LIST. Depending on the state you are in, you may have to set up discresionary on top of a flat rate. You will have to do the base/flat rate and the discresionary seperately and then do a new group for them to be linked together.
