I’m only a freshmen in college right now and I’m double majoring in finance and accounting. I was wondering how I can better prepare myself for a career in that field. Should I read some books or try to get hands on experienced. I’m looking to be a CPA or an Investment/Financial Analyst so how do I prepare for that. Any information you guys can give will help. Thanks a lot in advance.

Michigan income tax rate went to 4.35% and I need to change it to do payroll this morning…..Can’t figure out how!!! I already did the obvious… Google and QuickBooks Help… any other ideas?

I am right now attending the university to complete my certificate in the Accounting. I already have a BS in General Business. I did some volunteer work during this summer for a CPA. I would like to find a part time entry level accounting position while I am attending my classes at the university to gain the needed experience. Please can you tell me what is the best accounting field for an entry level position. Thank you in advance for your advice.

HELP! I messed up big time with my quickbooks. I deleted 6 or 7 transactions from the wrong area and it deleted them everywhere! I still have Quickbooks open, is there a way to close it without it saving the changes?

Cases include: foreclosures, bankruptcies, REO settlements, and evictions.
There are ~55 people in the company (including attorneys) with expectations to grow to 75 people soon.
Quickbooks is currently used for accounting but does not manage documents or work flow.

I need to be able to enter invoices, sales receipts, new customers and payments. So I was wondering if it has the same functionality as regular Quickbooks.

I see some places have an automatic signature on their checks, and the person who’s signature it is initials it next to their signature. We use Quickbooks here-anyone know how to set that up? I am assuming you would somehow have to scan the signature and then upload it into Quickbooks.

I need to enter the following account balances in QuickBooks with general journal entries. What are the entries I should enter?
Cash, Accounts Receivable, Supplies, Prepaid Insurance, Furniture & Equipment, Automobile, Accounts Payable, Capital, Drawing, Professional Fees, Salary Expense, Rent Expense, Automobile Expense, Utilities.

So is bachelors of science degree all you need in accounting to find an accounting job or would it be required to have cpa cert?
